Currently, I’m researching ways to optimise code – this means, how to make the code we have perform as efficiently and quickly as possible.

My current project isn’t as exciting as other projects I have done. I am currently working on an obsolescence project where I am replacing out of date/redundant hardware and software. This helps with maintenance issues and strengthens cybersecurity. There is some excitement as not everything is being replaced so we have to get the new software to work with the old equipment not being replaced. It also offers the chance to make improvements to the system that wouldn’t have been as easy on a live system.

Currently, I’m working on a way to ensure randomisation at my role is fair! This means working with programmers, project managers and lots of amazing managers in-store to figure out a way to digitalise their current randomisation process for stores. Consider whether online random number generators are truly fair or even flipping a coin. There are many factors that go into this, did you flip the coin with a spin, does the generator have in-built bias? Lots of statistics and testing!

My current project is based predicting behaviour of people released from prison. Unfortunately I cannot say any more than that as it is confidential.
