About Me:
I live in Glasgow. I study neuroscience and am particularly interested in how the brain works and forms memories.
In my free time, I love hiking in the Highlands, reading books, and music! I really like trying new things, creating memorable experiences, and making new friends 😊

My Work:
I am a Postgraduate Researcher specialising in memory.
My work explores questions such as: How are our memories formed? How can we preserve them over the years? And how can memory be enhanced?
These are some of the challenges I aim to address in my research. -
My Typical Day:
I start my day early with a breakfast of delicious pancakes or porridge. I usually arrive at my office around 8:30 AM, where I begin by reading and responding to all the emails in my inbox and planning my goals for the day.
For lunch, I head to the highest floor of my building with my colleagues, enjoying a lovely view of part of the city and the mountains.
In the afternoon, I dive back into analysing brain signals or conducting brain experiments in the lab. In the evening, I leave the office and head to the gym to get my workout in. Some days, instead of going to the gym, I go climbing, pottery painting, or I try new activities like knitting (even though I am not really good at them, I enjoy the process of trying and getting better over time).

What I'd do with the prize money:
I’d like to organize an event for students to visit the neuroscience facilities. You would have the chance to learn about the instruments we currently use to study the brain and get inspired to explore neuroscience. Who knows—one day, one of you might make a groundbreaking discovery or even develop new tools to advance the field! 🧠
-
Education:
I chose a middle school with a specialized music program to study music and play the violin. In high school, I followed a curriculum that included psychology, which sparked my interest in the mind and human behavior.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology in Tuscany, Italy, then moved to Bologna to pursue a Master’s in Neuroscience. Afterwards, I moved to Glasgow to study memory and begin my PhD.
-
Work History:
I’ve always enjoyed trying new things for both fun and to gain meaningful experiences.
Alongside my work as a research assistant, I’ve explored various roles while studying. I’ve worked as a guide at a historical Etruscan site, been an educator, taught coding in schools, and organized Meet&Code events, an initiative by the European Union designed to create engaging tech events for young people.

Current Job:
I am a PhD student in my final year.
