No – I think there is a lot of hype around AI and how it will change things. It WILL make things change, but jobs will still be around. They will be assisted by AI tools rather than replaced by them.

I’m not afraid of AI taking my job, I’m afraid of someone thinking AI can do their computing work for them.
I’ve used AI to improve my communication in documents and e-mails but as for coding, it is hit and miss depending on what you are asking it to do. Simple queries can be handled ok, but once you ask something vendor specific or if you use a term used predominantly for something else it gets confused.
It will improve in the future but there will always be limits based on what information it has learned from.

Not at all. My job was created by the presence of AI. All new developments threaten to replace jobs but in reality they also create new jobs. when the industrial revolution started the new machines threatened to replace many jobs and did in many cases, but those very machines needed people to build them, manufacture the parts, repair them and operate them so new jobs were created. When the Internet got popular people said it would replace jobs and in reality it created more than it replaced.

It’s natural to feel a bit concerned about how AI is developing and its impact on jobs, including in creative arts. AI can automate routine tasks and even help create art, music, or writing, which raises questions about the future of human creativity and employment. However, I think AI is more likely to be a powerful tool that helps people be more creative and efficient rather than fully replace them. The unique human touch (our emotions, experiences, and imagination) is something AI can’t truly replicate. So while some jobs might change or disappear, new opportunities will also arise where humans and AI work together in exciting ways. It’s important to adapt and learn how to use AI to our advantage rather than just fear it.
