Mmm, that’s a good question. I can definitely think of times as a child where I thought “I’ll never understand/like computers”. I guess things changed when I discovered programming in high school. I wouldn’t say I suddenly started loving computers, but I was definitely more interested. I saw the link between problem solving (which I always liked) and the way computers work and I guess that was it.
I really loved video games as a kid, and still do! From there I started playing around with making excel sheets to track my games (as you do), and after that I started building macros for the spreadsheets. Then those eventually turned into building bigger code scripts, and before I knew it I was writing whole programs. So all I really did was follow things I was interested in and curious about, and now I’m here.
I didn’t have much of my own tech growing up so I became super interested in things I didn’t have (as most kids do!) and started tinkering with them (mainly breaking them and putting them back together before I got into trouble.) I loved computing lessons at schools and could not wait for the next one.
