• Question: how long did it take you to study and receive all of your qualifications

      I did a four year degree at university – three years studying with an industrial placement year between the second and final year. My degree was in Computer Graphics, Vision and Games and I worked for Sony on my year placement, but when I finished the course, I ended up getting a job with a company building an enterprise management system for a maritime security firm.

    I started school when I was 4 and received my A levels when I was 18, so 14 years so far. I did an MMath master of mathematics degree at Reading in 4 years, so 18 years in total. Then I did my PhD which took me 3 and a half years.

    So that is 21 1/2 years of school. Over half of my life so far has been spent studying, a sobering thought!
