• Question: Is computer science related jobs a good thing for everyone? Do you think there are things you have to have certain skills for?

      There are such a range of jobs in IT that you probably can find one that works for you. I would say that to be successful having a good STEM background, having an interest in technology, being able to work and communicate with people and being able to solve problems are the key skills you need to be successful.

      Computer science related jobs may not suit everyone, some people don’t like having to sit infront of a screen for most of their work day and that’s ok. People should always try to be happy with their work. It does help to be comfortable using a computer/technology as it is hard to avoid completely with lots of things being online only.
      Different skills will benefit different careers more than others, but most skills can be improved with time and experience. For computing, it helps if you have good problem solving skills and an inquisitive mind. Computer technology changes quickly so being able to learn new procedures and how the new technology works is really helpful too.
