When I am programming, I really enjoy the logical puzzle of trying to figure out how to put together an algorithm to do the task I need to do.

      Helping others solve their problems.

My favourite part about being a computer scientist is using code to explore really advanced science, like plasma and nuclear fusion. With programming and maths, I can model how plasmas break down CO₂ to help fight climate change, or simulate the extreme conditions inside a fusion reactor, which could one day give us clean, unlimited energy.

It’s amazing to take something invisible and complex, like how particles behave in high-energy environments, and make it understandable with computer models. I get to work at the edge of science, where computing meets physics, and help design technologies that could shape the future.
