Personally speaking, yes. I work from home, and also have a family to “manage.” So long as you get your job done, and your employer doesn’t mind the hours you keep (and you don’t work more than your contracted hours) you’ll be fine. My hours are 9-5.30, Mon-Fri, but the hours are flexible (if there’s washing to hang, etc). I make a hard stop at 5.30 – 6.30 (depending on how many I have to cook for!) and do not work weekends. When I travel to Europe on conferences, all bets are off!

For me my work is very good and provided the job gets done no one is worried if you don’t start until 10am or if you finish early to take care of something.
It does depend on what assignment you have, I’m not leaving a site job until it’s finished even if I work extra hours.
Also we have people all around the world so I might get a message on my phone at 10pm at night (very rare) and if it’s urgent I will answer immediately (as a senior consultant I’ll get call for help messages from site teams needing guidance so it’s normally important) but if it can wait I’ll get to it the next day.

So this is a ‘it depends’ type of answer. My current job allows me the flexibility of working hybrid (2 days in the office, 3 days at home) but I also attend a lot of meetings during the day, so I am limited as to how to schedule my work around my day. My boss lets me complete things later if I can’t do them during the working day, so that’s quite useful

I do, I am lucky to work from home where I can get a few house chores done in the day where I have a spare few minutes free. Though some days getting time away from the desk can be tricky.
