I make sure that when I finish work, that’s it, I’m logged off for the day, and I do something else completely unrelated! For example, I’m training for a charity 10k run at the moment, or I read a book or go out with my friends. This helps me enjoy my time not at work much more. At work, I always ask for help if I feel like I’m stuck and struggling with stress, and people are always more than happy to help out.
When coding I set small manageable goals to complete before moving onto another. Starting the day by sectioning up my work from one larger task into several smaller ones makes the day feel more achievable.
Also I work in a team of 8 people so I can always ask for help with any problems I have.
When I’m really stressed, I just walk away from my desk and listen to some music for 10 minutes. Also as I work from home a few days a week I can play with my dog which always boosts my serotonin levels.
