I work at IKEA as a technical support specialist currently within their information security and data privacy department! This means I secure your information, their company and data.
I work on risk assessments which make sure that our products remain compliant with constantly changing laws that the government set. I also make sure that the company is secured throughout all of their departments so that you don’t have to worry as customers.
If there is a problem, we monitor it, assess it and plan for training. I help to make sure the company can run and that your data is safe.

A typical day for me means waking up early to catch the tube to our office in Wembley! I get there and have some yummy breakfast which they provide. I catch up with my team and have lots of serious and secret meetings. I then work on my laptop to make sure that everything is secured, assessed and complete for the day!Ā A lot of my work is staying up to date on trends through research and reporting them. I then go home around 5pm for a lovely nap.

What I'd do with the prize money:
I would use this money to help fund the women in tech community Byte Queens. i would love to be able to give them some amazing events to be hosted in person to teach everyone more about cybersecurity and the path into technology regardless of whether they have experience. I’d love to bring in some wonderful panelists and fund the venue to do all of this for students. It’s always been a dream of mine to do this for the community.
