AI has already helped with learning and development where I work. It’s great for helping people get a grasp of general terms but it has also caused some security concerns. The information used on projects can be sensitive and our customers don’t want anyone looking at it, so making sure people understand they can’t just upload a document to an AI engine to get answers is a priority.
I think once AI gets better it will be a great tool, that you would be foolish not to use but you will still need someone checking that the answers it gives and the information it is basing it’s decisions on is correct.

I think AI has the potential to be very helpful. For example, one of the strengths of AI at the moment is writing code. My colleagues and I work in many different programming languages, and so understanding each other’s code and converting them to our languages can be difficult. ChatGPT is very good at this, and whilst it will frequently give errors, it can be a significant time save.

I don’t think it is necessary to use AI, but I can see it becoming helpful and hopefully only enable people further in the future.
