There are hundreds of different computer-related jobs across various industries
e.g. Software Developer, Frontend Developer, Backend Developer, Mobile App Developer (iOS/Android), DevOps Engineer, Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Cybersecurity Analyst, Cloud Engineer etc..
There are loads! For example, you could create websites or mobile apps, develop games, make control systems for vehicles, protect with cyber security, analyse data, build robots (for a whole variety of reasons), make medical scanners – anything you can think of that uses a computer or electronics needs a computer scientist to work on it!
Most jobs nowadays are moving to be computer based! Common jobs though in computing include IT, business intelligence, data analyst, data scientist, cyber analyst, ethical hacker, information security specialist, software developer… the list carries on. Where there’s a need for computing, there will always be a job. Some you may have never even heard of such as Quality Assurance where people test products or software online to make sure it does not and can not fail.
There are more computer based jobs coming out all the time, so it is a difficult thing to count. there are so many, that there is something for everyone. Some are coding based and others, like mine, are not, even though I have a background as a developer.
The number of computer-based jobs can vary widely depending on factors such as location, industry demand, and technological advancements. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that there are millions of jobs in the technology sector alone, which is crazy, right? Roles include software developers, data analysts, IT support specialists, cybersecurity experts, and systems administrators. The choice of career for a future involving computers is endless.
