I support lots of different research projects. One day, I might be working on data from hip implants, and another day, I might be combining data from many medical studies to try to to get an overall idea of how good a drug is.
The company I work for is researching into how AI can be trained using the data from a customer’s systems to inform them on how to improve their systems.
Right now, I’m researching how to break down carbon dioxide (CO₂) using plasma, which is like an electrically charged gas. This process could help fight climate change by turning CO₂, one of the main greenhouse gases, into useful products instead of letting it build up in the atmosphere.
I study this using Scientific Computing, which means I create computer models and simulations to understand how the plasma behaves and how to make the process more efficient. It’s like using advanced maths and coding to explore what’s going on inside a futuristic reaction chamber. It’s a really exciting area, because it combines clean energy, chemistry, physics, and computing all in one.
