• Question: what is the most complex thing you've coded?

      I was once part of a new build chemical factory project. It had to be broken up into lots of different work streams to develop. We had to make sure if streams interacted they didn’t have a negative affect on each other and put safety stops in place.
      At one point, there were over 50 people working on the software alone.

      I don’t really code any more but I guess the most complex for me was a computer game back in the 1980s and it was complex because I have to do it in something called Assembly Language, which is not very much like English at all. Worts of all, when I ran it, it crashed!

    As my role is mostly in cyber and IT, I don’t code as much unless it’s to automate something so I think the most complex project I’ve ever made was actually a while back during my A-levels where I created a Radiation Nuke Simulator that calculated the exact spread of radiation if a bomb dropped on a dense area using the current wind speed! It was the most complicated to me at the time due to the fact that it had to be packaged up nicely to create a program with a UI and functions, which I had not focused on before. This was all done in Python due to its wonderful abilities in data analysis.
